Cookies and storage

Website information

The corporate pages can be browsed without an account and do not use advertising cookies. The shop uses browser storage to retain the products you select.

Cookies are only one kind of browser state

A cookie is information associated with a website that a browser can send with subsequent requests. Local storage and session storage are different browser facilities: an application can read them on the device, but they are not automatically attached to every request in the way cookies are. The distinction matters when deciding what to clear, what a setting affects, and whether information has actually been sent to a service.

This page describes the state used by the corporate application. It does not inventory every cookie or preference created by a browser extension, a logged-in account with another service, a network appliance, or a destination website. Those tools can operate independently of the pages and controls provided by Segal Industries.

Reading the corporate website

The public corporate pages can be read without an account. The application does not include an advertising-cookie system, an advertising preference profile, or embedded advertising tracking code. Navigation, program descriptions, the founder biography, and the public office information are intended to be available as ordinary website content. There is no requirement to create a customer profile to read that material.

The host still processes the connection information needed to deliver a page. A request for an image, a font, a search-engine card, or an application response is a network interaction even when the page does not set an advertising cookie. The privacy notice explains this distinction and the information that can accompany browsing or a submitted enquiry.

The first-visit animation

The corporate page-transition system uses session storage to remember that the introductory brand animation has been seen in the current browser session. The stored entry is a simple presentation preference, using the key segal-entrance and a seen value. It is not an account identifier, a record of a purchase, or proof that a message was delivered.

Session storage is associated with the browser session and browsing context. Closing a tab, using a private window, restoring a session, or changing browser settings can affect how that state behaves. The animation also responds to the reduced-motion preference. The presence or absence of an introductory animation does not change the underlying program information or turn browsing into a transaction.

The shop cart

The shop uses local storage to retain selected variant identifiers and quantities under the key segal-gift-shop-cart-v1. Local storage is designed to persist beyond a single page load, so a visitor can leave a product page and return to the cart without selecting everything again. This state is held in the browser rather than serving as a confirmed order record.

The current shop interface lets you change quantities, remove individual products, and clear a cart. The application checks stored values before using them, but a cart can still become outdated as catalogue availability or selections change. The server validates the items again when checkout is requested. A retained cart does not guarantee a price, reserve inventory, initiate payment, or establish delivery availability.

How to manage stored selections

Use the cart controls when you want to change the products selected for a possible purchase. Use the browser’s site-data controls when you want to remove the stored cart or session preference from that browser. The names and locations of those controls differ by browser and operating system; look for site data, local storage, cookies, or privacy settings for segal.industries.

Clearing stored data can remove your selections and cause an introductory animation to appear again. Blocking storage can prevent selections from being retained reliably between visits. These changes affect the device and browsing context where you make them. They do not erase an enquiry already transmitted, cancel an accepted order, or delete records maintained by a payment or fulfilment provider.

Checkout and other destinations

A live shop checkout can open a Stripe-hosted payment flow, and successful paid orders can be sent to Printful for fulfilment. Those services can use their own cookies, storage, security controls, and account features. Review their notices and the information shown during checkout; the corporate cart’s storage description does not replace the providers’ own explanation of their services.

The same principle applies to specialist division applications and other outbound links. A shared Segal name or a related subdomain does not mean every application stores the same information or supports the same preferences. Check the page you are entering before submitting information, signing into an account, accepting a quote, or continuing toward payment.

Enquiries and browser settings

The public enquiry interfaces send a request when you choose to submit the form. Completing a field, selecting a product option, keeping a cart, and receiving a successful transmission response are different events. A storage setting does not itself establish whether an enquiry was delivered. Read the success, draft, or error state presented by the application after submission.

If you are troubleshooting, describe the browser, the page, and the visible behavior without sending the contents of your browser storage or a session export. Such exports can contain unrelated information from other services. Contact Us can be used for questions about this page, the corporate site’s stored state, or the practical effect of clearing it. The description will be updated when the application’s actual storage behavior changes.

Corporate pages

The website host processes connection information needed to deliver the corporate pages. Further information is available in the privacy notice.

The shop cart

The shop retains selected product variants and quantities in local storage on your device so your cart remains available after a page reload. You can remove products from the cart or clear this website’s stored data through your browser. Retaining a cart does not place an order.
