Selene is living space, power, and the equipment that prepares the site. The design uses what the surface can provide.

The lunar environment changes construction, shielding, thermal management, and the movement of material. A settlement therefore begins with the site and the sequence that makes it usable. Habitat design is connected to power, mobility, communications, and the equipment needed to prepare and maintain the surface infrastructure.
