Solstice

Segal DefenseHigh-energy lasers

A high-energy laser weapons research program for future defensive systems.

Research & Development

Segal Defense

Solstice places high-energy laser weapons at the center of the Segal Defense research portfolio. The ambition is a coherent platform: optical hardware, electrical support, thermal management, sensing, and a human-controlled operating environment developed as one system.

A promising laboratory result becomes useful when the surrounding engineering is understood. Solstice studies the relationship between the instrument and its environment, the evidence needed to assess performance, and the practical demands of installation, maintenance, and responsible operation.

The program is open to research and engineering discussions with institutions and prospective partners. Initial engagement establishes the intended application, the evaluation framework, and the boundaries of the technical exchange. Specifications, demonstrations, and availability must be established through that review.

  • Directed-energy platform

A common research frame for the optical instrument and its supporting systems.

  • Evidence-led development

Environmental assessment and independent evaluation guide the development case.

  • Human authority

Operator responsibility, authorization, and system state remain explicit.
